Books Are Timeless
Gwendolyn's picture

I have recently become aware of how books have no real age limit. At least (in my opinion) you can't ever be "too old" for a book. Many of the books that have moved or impacted me are ones that are officially considered childrens books. These titles include "Sahara Special" by Esme Raji Codell, "A Wrinkle In Time" by Madeleine L'Engle, "Because Of Winn Dixie" by Kate Dicamillo, "The Dot" by Peter H. Reynolds, "Harriet The Spy" by, "The Phantom Tollbooth" by Norton Juster, "Coraline" by Neil Gaiman, "Becoming Naomi Leon" by Pam Munoz Ryan, and "From The Mixed Up Files Of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler" by E. L. Konigsburg, to name a selection. As both a writer and admirer of literature, I am quite passionate about books. I love the characters, I love their stories, but overall, I love how books can change people. I discovered many of these books when I was younger, and I have recently realized that they are still some of my favorites. These timeless books are the most dear to me because they moved or inspired me in some way. This is just my opinion, but I am curious how other book-lovers feel about this subject. What are some of our favorite books that moved you? Do you still love the books that you loved when you were younger? Why or why not?
