Joss Kazdan is a troubled teen going through depression.  He blames himself for his brother Eli's death. Joss feels alienated at home - he and his mother Kathryn do not get along very well, and his father, Ben keeps to himself most of the time and is suffering from writers' block. The only person he looks forward to seeing is his sister, Callie.

Joss is sent to junvenile detention home for setting a house on fire and almost killing a person in it. After he falls and hits his head on the ground, Joss' reality is jarred when he is transported to a world of Paradise.  When two college students help Joss out, they find a way to make a device that allows others to be transported through a portal to the Garden of Eden.

This enrages a selfish god named Samael, who tries to destroy people.  It is up to Joss and his friends to stop Samael.

Opinion:

Crashing Eden is a great story. It has a great plot and an amazing adventure in it. The action in the book helps move the story along quickly.  Although there are some swear words in the book, I was not put off by the use.

I liked how the author used the idea that people were kicked out of Eden by Samael, the Creator God.  This story line felt unique and interesting.
